I'm
the one - This poem was written from a place of inspiration. It
began with inspiring a friend and became a message I wanted to send to
all women. This one speaks for itself. The message is: the power lies
within you. The power to cause anything lies within you.
The image shows the many faces of woman. The woman peeking through the
image of a larger woman denotes the woman within you that’s hidden
inside of you. You finally give yourself the gift of a beautiful
flower - which you blossom into and the butterfly denotes the breaking
out of a cocoon and flying away after discovering you always had the
power to have all of your dreams be a reality.

Far
and Beyond - This poem was written from a serene place - a moment
in the wonder of being in love, a moment of being overtaken by the
"spiritual" birth of a new kind of love. One in which I once thought
I'd never experience or have with another, and only dreamed I'd always
have. In the end, I wanted the world to embrace that kind of spiritual
bond/connection and somehow be inspired by the beauty of it all.
The image bonds two people in a spiritual way, and intensifies
spiritual bonding through the silhouette of another emerging from the
waters. That silhouette denotes the birth of one from two.

A
Mocha Cream Creature - This poem was written from one woman of
color to another to give her a place of being proud to be a woman of
color, a part of a race that gives many faces, many shapes, many
shades of beauty, power and grace. It was named mocha cream because
I’m reminded of coffee. It can be many shades - dark, light, and all
the shades in between, as are women of color. It can taste bold,
smooth, and strong. It soothes and warms, wakes us up and gets us
started. As does the woman I wrote it for.
The image shows the curves that denote the bold secure beings that we
are and the comfort we have in our own skin. The full lips denote the
symbolism of women of color and the voice of one woman, yet speaking
for all women.

Love
Exists in the Moment - This poem was written from a place of hope
– hope that the world could embrace “LOVE” as a creation of one’s own
choice. In my own moment, I noticed that there are always reasons that
we can find to stop loving another when all we have is now - today,
and we can create and experience love whenever we want at any given
time.
The image denotes the swirl of wind (love), like a tornado that comes
out of nowhere (which we can create for ourselves) that dances across
the cold stark places in our lives. And in the end, love conquers even
the coldest of places of life.

Imagine
- was written from a spiritual place. My relationship with God keeps
me grounded. The deep profound love that lives within me is a gift
that only he could give. It penetrates all wrong doings that comes my
way and I only wish everyone had a little of that sense of peace and
serenity. Even in moments of despair, I’m soothed by his amazing
grace.
The image of hands is given by the words used in the poem and the
chapel doors emerging denote the spiritual connection to God. The snow
denotes particles of my passion that dangles through the air, which
penetrates the cynical and resigned and brightens the eyes of despair.
“Imagine” is one of my most favorite poems of them all.
